Kamikos & Kamikotization
Power of Transmission
The Butterfly Miraculous commands the power of Transmission. A transformed Butterfly holder can infuse a butterfly with cosmic energy, creating a Kamiko, and send it to possess an item belonging to any player!
Empowered Targets
When the Kamiko enters an item, the target receives a Kamikotization! Depending on the specific power granted (such as custom powers added by datapacks or canonical show powers included in the Kamikotization Expansion addon), the target is transformed into an empowered player, receiving specialized abilities, boosted attributes, and custom armor or tools to assist the Butterfly Miraculous holder.
Overcoming Foes
If you find yourself facing an opponent empowered by a Kamiko, simply fighting them head-on can be difficult! To strip a kamikotized opponent of their powers, you must focus your attacks on their possessed item or tool. Once the item takes enough damage and breaks, the kamikotization is revoked!
Purifying the Spirit
When a kamikotized item is destroyed, the released Kamiko will attempt to flutter away. If you are transformed with the Ladybug Miraculous, you can use your Yoyo to capture and purify the escaping Kamiko, cleansing it of energy and releasing a normal, harmless butterfly back into the sky!
Why Kamiko instead of Akuma?
In Miraculous TV show lore, power transmission relies on intentions and emotions, differentiating between "Kamikos" and villainous "Akumas". In Mineraculous, the concepts of emotions, good, and evil are entirely removed; players and entities are completely neutral! Therefore, this mod uses "Kamiko" and "Kamikotization" across all items and interfaces as the neutral terminology for empowering targets without implying villainy or emotional manipulation. If you prefer the classic TV show terminology, you can enable the built-in Akumatization Pack in your Resource Packs menu to rename them to Akuma and Akumatization!
